Beat Spacek - Modern Streets Remixes Released 11 December

Back in January 2015, Steve Spacek (Spacek, Africa HiTech, Black Pocket, Space Invadas) - a British vocalist, producer and fearless creator - dropped his debut album Modern Streets under the moniker Beat Spacek.

In November he followed up with a limited edition cassette simply titled iOS Mixtape. Created entirely on iOS apps for iPhone and iPad, both works are highly original and an utterly essential anthology of his progressive and deeply soulful electronic excursions.

Three like-minded souls stepped up on remix duties: Seven Davis Jr, dBridge and Animal Collective. SDJR transposes Spacek's digi-funk onto a jaunty 4x4 groove with typical panache, finding favour with Four Tet, Daphni and Floating Points (amongst others) who hammered it through the summer. On the flip, dBridge (Steve's brother) and Deakin from Animal Collective showcase their own machine funk interpretations - the former sleek and weighty as you would expect from the Exit Records boss and the latter gloriously scattershot in its form and function.

It's taken a while, but we're chuffed to be able to release these reworks on lovely black 180g 12" vinyl housed in a classic yellow Ninja Tune house disco bag.
