The boys behind Skalpel have, in essence, resurrected the dusty and smoky spirit of the 60's & 70's Polish Jazz scene by revisiting it with a modern cut'n'paste converge. The record is obviously a labour of love due to each sample being delicately crafted and thus giving it real warmth with a human touch. Their music is made from two fundamental elements that are totally contradictory but work bizarrely well together. The Skalpel duo consists of the dark and brooding serious jazz lover, and the cheeky DJ who loves to see people hit the dance-floor. It's a faultless blend and well worth checking-out!
