Grammy-nominated duo Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight of ODESZA, and ARIA-platinum selling Australian producer Tom Stell of Golden Features, release a behind-the-scenes listen on the creation of their acclaimed joint project, BRONSON. Titled COMMENTARY, the 23-minute audio piece is a compliment to their debut self-titled album that takes listeners on a sonic journey through the genesis of the project - from candid, never-before-heard stories inside the studio to detailed explanations of the thematic elements of the album, to the collaborative process and more. With intimate interviews from featured artists including Gallant, lau.ra (of Ultraísta) and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, the in-depth analysis serves as an exclusive look into the artistic process, illuminating the inception and subsequent development of each track, as well as the evolution of the project as a whole. Additionally, COMMENTARY creatively weaves in re-worked audio stems and immersive sound design intermittently, to usher the listener wholly into the world of BRONSON.

BRONSON reveals, “COMMENTARY is just that – an elucidation on our debut album as BRONSON. We wanted to give some insight into how and why the project came to be. It’s a look behind the curtain from us, as well as from our guest collaborators lau.ra, Gallant and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. We hope listeners enjoy this deeper dive into our album.”

Throughout the narration, BRONSON describes an almost inadvertent partnership: one that formed serendipitously between friends, which transpired into a synergistic energy to create something entirely different from their existing projects. With the origins of the album emerging from a beat Mills made on his laptop during a flight, BRONSON grew into a full-length project that saw the trio experimenting with an analog approach, heavily distorted sounds and cathartic lyricism. COMMENTARY reveals their inventive processes and powerful inspirations around each track, along with dialogue from featured collaborators on their emotive additions to the groundbreaking album.

BRONSON has been met with critical acclaim by the likes of Billboard, Grammy, Forbes, among others. The debut album arrived with the stand-out track “KNOW ME” featuring breakout R&B talent, Gallant, whose breath-y, raw vocals elevate the energy and magnitude of the track, which speaks to the complexities of connection. The diverse collection of songs vacillate between intense instrumental-heavy cuts and melodic vocal-driven compositions, achieving newfound soundscapes for the trio, free of any expectations attached to their respective projects.
