“In terms of music making for me it’s really about throwing things together like throwing colors on a canvas until something starts to feel good.  When listening to parts or sounds or samples I am always looking for that emotional reaction in myself to a sound.” - obli

obli is a musician in the truest sense of the word. Having been in bands from a young age, he moved to Los Angeles where he met Sonny Moore (Skrillex) who introduced obli to electronic music; notably the likes of Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Autechre.

Having played in bands all his life, in 2017 obli began to focus on making his own electronic music as a personal creative outlet. In 2020 he signed with ODESZA’s record label Foreign Family Collective and released his debut EP ‘Change’ which earned support from outlets like Earmlik, NUDE, Acid Stag, & KCRW. Since then he has released remixes for BRONSON, Big Wild, ford., Pat Lok, and Swimm. obli is now set to release new original music in 2021 & 2022.

“If Only You is one that feels like it has a lot of sounds and parts that take different paths but somehow all work together in the end. Just at the tail end of finishing it up this Fall I had my good friend Aria Pullman (A.O.) sing the line on it that added such a beautiful human element as well as giving the song a title. It feels really good to get some new original music out there this year… and more to come next year.” - obli
