The song explores the human desire to escape - whether it's escaping from daily life or trying to break out of routines, there's always the desire to seek out more.  We hear Cooke, who co-wrote the song, speak to this sense of in-between, living through the chaos and taking refuge in connection. “Lay It All on Me” comes highly anticipated by fans after being teased during select live sets through summer of 2021.

Phantoms on the new track: “Lay It All On Me” is one of the first songs we wrote with the incredibly talented Jem Cooke while on a writing trip to London early last year. It was one of those occasions when the song came together extremely fast - all the vocals were written and recorded in an afternoon. Jem's vocal is so beautiful we wanted the music to compliment it first and foremost. We went with a mix of chugging tribal drums, warm piano and analog bass, trying to find a space between organic and electronic. It’s really supposed to make you feel like you’re lost somewhere dark but it’s all going to be okay.”

The two were officially signed to Foreign Family collective this year, founded by electronic giant ODESZA in 2015 and since have had the freedom to explore new and exciting creative avenues with their music.  With previous support from NPR, Billboard, Stereogum, LA  Weekly, Earmilk + more and over 80 million streams across platforms, the duo has solidified themselves as one of the most promising acts entering 2022, with lots more on the horizon.
