Leading poets, MCs and performance artists create a spoken word communal party experience of multi-genre influences. The event forms part of Tilt's Something I Said? a weekend of playful and provoking spoken word curated by award-winning arts entrepreneur Melanie Abrahams. The ten events between 22 - 24 October present writers, raconteurs and thinkers who explore the pleasure to be had in words – in the saying of them - and through ways of telling.

DELS has been creating a buzz ever since John Peel heard him as a teenager and put him on the radio - now he’s ready to re-write the rules of rap in the UK in a way that hasn’t happened for years.
'Shapeshift' is a perfect place to start. The beat is courtesy of long-time collaborator Joe Goddard, better known for his work as part of Hot Chip. Goddard hooks up some ultra-squelchy, off-kilter electronic madness (as well as dropping in to deliver a poker-faced middle 8). Over it, DELS does what he does best, in this case taking us back to a childhood in which his biggest dream was to be able to turn into something else. It’s a proper recollection of childhood, its fears and well as its fun, not one of those fake lists of vintage products like Raleigh Grifters. DELS slams it out in a clear voice which shows the influence of Grime, while the cleverness of his punch lines and metaphors show he ain’t kowtowing to any of the many cliches of the form.

Calling all Liverpool based Big Dada and Ninja fans. One of the most exciting artists Big Dada has signed recently is the Liverpool born and bred Bang On. A born MC, Elliott Egerton's delivery effortlessly moves between funny and furious, as he spins yarns and nails metaphors that make rap sound like a good idea again. Combined with raw, bass-hefty production that could make a bleeding edge dubstepper weep, he's set to be a force to be reckoned with in the coming year.
The video for his debut single, Hands High, is being shot in Liverpool this coming week on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th August. The director is Goetz Werner, who shot Dizzee Rascal's 'Graftin' and 'Off To Work.' We need as many people as possible to appear as extras in the club (Tuesday) and street (Wednesday) based scenes.

This week's Ninja Tune XX giveaway is a truly special, brand new creation from one of Big Dada's all time greats, Roots Manuva. Arguably the greatest hip-hop artist Britain has ever produced, Rodney Smith's strengths have always been his fearless individualism and astounding artistry. As one of several parts of his involvement with Ninja Tune's 20th anniversary, he recently crafted a dub of The Herbaliser's 'Something Wicked This Way Comes,' which, we think, is astonishingly good. Featuring infectious, eerie sonics, Manuva's inimitable swing and new, ruminative verses from the man himself, it's everything great about Roots boiled down to one song.
Better yet, Big Dada founder and Manuva-mentor Will Ashon filmed the dub being made. The video is truly a treat, and shows Rodney having fun as he created the final dub.
Roots Manuva is headlining the Ninja Tune XX party at London Ewer Street on 2nd October, as well as playing dates in Paris and Brussels. He has two new tracks on the compilations, and remixes of his work by Micachu, Modeselektor, Cut Chemist and Slugabed amongst others.
His latest album, 'Duppy Writer,' a collaborative remix collection, is out on September 6th.
